Scale Venture Partners said Mary Denten has joined the firm as chief financial officer.

She brings 15 years of industry experience to the Foster City venture firm -- previously known as BA Venture Partners when it was the venture arm of Bank of America. (NYSE: BAC)

Denten was previously with Redwood Shores-based Global Catalyst Partners for five years, where she managed the analysis of four venture capital funds with $300 million in assets and about 250 limited partners.

Her predecessor at Scale, Tracy Pappas, has joined Synergy Life Science Partners.

"Mary's knowledge and network within the venture community will be invaluable as we continue to invest and manage Fund II and lay the foundation for subsequent funds," said Kate Mitchell, managing director at Scale.

Scale's successes have included Good Technology and Glu Mobile.
