Scale Venture Partners today announced that it has hired Karan Mehandru as an associate on the firm’s technology team. Mehandru will focus on identifying investment opportunities including semiconductor, MEMS, consumer electronics, and datacenter infrastructure companies. Mehandru joins ScaleVP from Synopsys, where he was a sales account manager.

Prior to Synopsys, Mehandru was an implementation manager with a focus on the fabless semiconductor market for PMC-Sierra in Vancouver,Canada. During his five years with PMC-Sierra, Mehandru led and managed design implementation of large scale ASICs targeted for the telecommunications, storage and networking markets. Mehandru successfully led PMC-Sierra’s design implementation team through their first customer ASIC project with Cisco Systems.

Mehandru graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada with an Honors Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with high distinction. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, with a specialization in Technology and Entrepreneurship.
