Thursday, May 10, 2007 PlayPhone Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based mobile media and entertainment company, has raised $18.75 million in Series C funding. Scale Venture Partners led the deal, and was joined by return backers Cardinal Venture Partners and Menlo Ventures. The company previously raised around $12.1 million in venture funding, since its 2003 formation. www.playphone.com
