Neuroscience specialty pharmaceutical company Zogenix Inc. said it has named David Nassif as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Nassif previously served as a consultant to the company after leaving the CFO role at Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. He also led Zogenix's $10 million debt financing with GE Healthcare Financial Services which closed in March, according to a press release.

The San Diego-based company, which launched in August 2006 with a $60 million Series A round, develops Intraject, a single use subcutaneous delivery system that is both needle-free and disposable.
