Mary has more than 15 years in finance and over a decade of experience in the venture industry, came to ScaleVP from Global Catalyst Partners, where she was the firm's CFO. At Global Catalyst Partners, Denten managed a broad range of activities for the venture capital firm including fund raising, management, accounting, cash management, reporting, investor relations and portfolio company financings. She also managed the analysis of four venture capital funds with more than $300 Million in assets and approximately 250 limited partners. Mary was also responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources, IT and legal functions of the firm, and worked closely with portfolio companies to establish the structure for Human Resources and a variety of Finance department functions.

Prior to Global Catalyst Partners, she was the Controller for Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers, a Menlo Park, Calif-based venture capital firm for six years. As Controller, she was responsible for management, accounting, reporting and investor relations for more than 25 venture capital funds with over $3 Billion in assets and more than 1,000 limited partners.

Prior to joining Kleiner Perkins, Mary held finance department positions with Polycom and Price Waterhouse Coopers. She earned an M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from Santa Clara University. She also is a Certified Public Accountant.
