Before joining Scale Venture Partners in 2006, Nancy completed her MBA with a concentration in Health Sector Management at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. During her studies at Fuqua, Nancy was a member of the life sciences investment team at The Aurora Funds, a venture capital firm in North Carolina.

A Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and fellowship-trained hand surgeon with several years of clinical practice experience, Nancy began her career with Orthopedic Healthcare Northwest in Eugene, Oregon. While in practice, she was awarded a special fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery with AO International in Bern, Switzerland. Nancy completed her residency, serving as Chief Resident, at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and her fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center.

Nancy graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine. She holds a BA in Pre-professional Studies and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of IrishAngels, Notre Dame's network supporting entrepreneurial endeavors and new venture development.
